I see Danny Davis from Springfield Ohio is starting at Wisconsin as a Freshman. Didn't we have a shot at him late in the process last year? How did that break down.

He was one of the higher rated guys we brought in for a visit as a last ditch the weekend before signing day if I recall.

He gave us a look but it was an uphill climb all the way.

AJ Mayer at Cov Cath is playing in the 5A KY State title today. Going to Miami OH. 37 PTD, 13 RTD, 3 INT. Wonder if he'd be worth a second look.

Davis has looked great tonight. He'd have walked on campus and had the best physical tools of any of our receivers.

Can't argue with his decision, though.

We already have two qbs in this class as it is. Can’t sign them all.

What ever happened to kicker Cole Smith from Middletown? He was supposed to be pretty good. He signed but is not on our roster (nor was he during the season).

He grey-shirted I thought.

Assuming he will take over Gantz' scholarship for next year with him moving on.

My understanding was he grey-shirted as well. But the primary purpose of grey shirting is to not have to count a guy you want in the current class (2017 at the time). So he should be counted in this year's (2018) class, but I don't see him ever listed. Unless he's a Preferred WO. But if he's a preferred WO, why the heck did he grey-shirt - especially given our kicking woes last year? Anyone?
