templefootballfan Wrote:Believe me I can see Temple has along way to go. Even tough Golden is doing the right things, I didn't think he was day game coach & he proved it VS Buff. Right now I'm on this board because I've been BE fan since 1991. If the BE went to 12 tomorrow, Temple has no shot. Maybe in couple yrs Temple plays themselves back in the picture for 12 or 14. I have no promblem with MAC, or C-USA in the next suffle. Temple does have one advantage besides location, If a split happens, ND goes with FB schools, BE needs FB only. The 1st time split was discussed FB school had alot of incertainly, In 5 yrs when split is discussed, FB schools have all the cards.
That bolded part of your statement leaves me in disbelief. For a fan of the BE, you sure do spiel out a lot of doom and gloom for the BE. You also make many disparaging remarks towards the BE. Are you a disgruntled fan because Temple was thrown out, or are you a fan along the lines of Steven J/eastcoaster?

My opioun is the BE has to protect itself & if they don't they get picked apart. Same opioun I had in the 90's. Disparaging remarks made about the BE come from constant post trashing Temple after I make comment. Most have no connection to my comment. Disgrunled because got kick out, Do I think BE made mistake Yea, Also think Temple takes some of the blame.

Pretty clear now the draft decimated ACC football just like it decimated basketball.
We'll have a much better idea of where things stand after the Miami-Louisville game. You don't get many points for picking on a bottom half ACC team with your best team.
And the league will be back in football... just like it will resurge big time in basketball this season. So enjoy your one year of delusional joy.

Dont worry we will. Next year we will also enjoy it. Its obvious that you cant take a fraction of the heat that we have had to endure. I dont think its as much NFL defections as it is our teams improving. Rutgers is obviously not our best team and neither is Pitt, as far as we know, but they still beat a couple of your teams.

I think you're the delusional one if you expect the ACC to be tops in basketball every year!

Is that what I said? Did I even imply that?
All I said was that ACC basketball was down last year from the draft ... hell... UNC and GT's entire starting lineups were virtually gone. I'm saying the league will rebound big time this year... and will rebound big time in football next year in all likelihood

Georgia Tech was so bad on the hardwood last couple years that it was probably a good thing that the starting lineup was virtually gone.

Of course you didn't flat out say it. I think "delusional joy" doesn't take much imagination however.

One of the reasons they constantly trash Temple is that, apparently, some posters have decided that it is an unforgivably blasphemous sin to type the name of your school anywhere on this forum even though y'all are a former Big East member and most of us from the Northeast wish y'all nothing but the best in the future. But, hey, whatever injects meaning into their lives.

If you were referring to the end of the Cremins era, you might have had a point. Every year but two of the Hewitt era has fielded quality teams that have reached the NCAA tournament. Given the mega recruits (arguably the #1 PF and #1 PG recruit) starting this year, Tech will return to the thick of the ACC title hunt.

I was referring to the last 2 years. I dont think that GT even made the ncaa tourney the last 2 seasons have they? They seem to be more down than up.
But your point about having young teams is the reason that the acc is down in fb this year, couldnt the same be said for the Be last year? Pitt was young, Cincy was young, WV was young, Rutgers was young. I think the same can be said for the BE this upcoming season in bb.

Add in the basketball only teams.. Georgetown.. Notre Dame.. and even Seton Hall and St. Johns.. and where would that put this conference?!?!
By the way.. in case you were wondering.. take away Michigan, Iowa, and Wisconsin.. and the Big 10 is a one trick pony.. take away 3 of the top 4 from every major conference and it is either a 1 trick or no trick pony.. the ACC still has the speed, and athleticism to be one of the top 3 football conferences in the country.. BE, ACC, and Big 10..
Heck GT almost beat Notre Dame..

Yes, they took most of the core of the 2004 Final Four team into the 2005 NCAA tournament ... before they met a very good Louisville team in Rd 2.
Last year was the first down year since the year after Hewitt took over, when he lost 5 seniors.
