RE: We now actually have a real Duck Dynstay Bowl!
I don't have a problem with this or their views the thing to remember it's "their" views I don't see them trying to impose them on me...

that is when it becomes a problem when people try to force others into being "PC" on everything. I'm not a big bible thumper and I try to live my life by the golden rule instead a strict interpretation of the bible. With that you have the right to your beliefs just as I do and when someone tries to force me into something just because it's "pc" you are infringing on my rights more than the person just voicing his.

Wouldn't be my first choice for a bowl but I would go....my first choice will always have a coast close by

When do we see the "Honey Bo Bo Bowl"?
After all her mom is the self proclaimed queen of Georgia Southern.

Where he stands on gay rights. And his public statements.

A lot of the bigger bowl sponsors use tons of child labor from other countries to fund the their products, but that's way less important than 1 person's opinion on sexual orientation.

I don't think I'm the only one who would feel this way.

LOL....yes, please, refuse a bowl bid and make your school look like complete idiots to recruits. Please, please, PLEASE do that.

Exactly. Some of you guys are just delusional. This isn't the "Teach your children to hate difference" bowl.

Look into the labor practices of some of these sponsors. There's a lot more there than a conservative, Christian family from Louisiana's views on sexuality to be concerned with.

They're not forcing it on anybody. Question was asked, what kind of response did you expect?

The PC world

[Image: 1622043_602345876523108_1029665182_n_zpsad2e8d26.jpg]

PC people demand you be tolerant with their views while damning you for yours.

I have no problem with a company sponsoring a bowl game, accepting and participating in the bowl have nothing to do with supporting the sponsor of that bowl. I love the GoDaddy.com bowl, yet have never actually clicked on GoDaddy.com.

This is a commom mistake made by the "I stand with Phil Robertson" and Chick-fil-a day" folks.

No one(or very few anyhow) are suggesting that Phil Robertson or Dan Cathy don't have the right to have their opinion or that they don't have the right to express their opinion, just that they are not free from consequences for expressing those opinions. The really twisted and hypocritical thing about those folks is that many of them are the same people who speak out against and threaten to boycott companies who choose gay spokespeople(see: One Million Moms vs JC Penny/Ellen Degeneres).

So in these peoples mind, it's unreasonable for people to protest a company who makes public comments denouncing homosexuality and/or gives money to groups actively fighting against marriage equality and the people who are offended are trying to take away free speech, but on the other hand it's perfectly reasonable to protest and boycott a company that hires a spokesperson who happens to be a homosexual...

Everyone with their own moonshine jug, and playing the drinking game every time someone scores? They would have to have a heck of a three hour game wrap-up just to show which attendees could make it out of the parking lots without more than ten wrecks. Sponsor gifts for most accidents.

I also would be against Troy accepting the bid.

Why, because Phil wasn't politically correct, IYO?

Actually whether one agrees with Phil's position or not I'd hope we could agree he was crude and disgusting in the way he stated his opinion.

You clearly understand nothing about "these people's mind" as you are finding incongruity where there isn't any. There is always a lunatic fringe, but the overwhelming majority of people who stood with Phil or participated in CFA day did so not to denounce anything - but to support something they agreed with. They completely accept the idea that people who disagree with CFA or Phil Robertson have the right to boycott or otherwise impose consequences for the stands they take. However, when that happens, they also want to make sure that their voice is heard as well. A mass showing of support is simply the flip side of a boycott (but let's not pretend the boycotts you mentioned get anywhere near the participation rate as the showings of support), it is perfectly reasonable to do both.

I think you also have to take into account the generation that Phil grew up in. How many on this board would have even know what being PC ment just 20 year ago.

I personally agree with alot that he said even thought he might not have it in the best way.
