Do not really care but
Wrong local answers for UAB.
Barbee gone never able to recruit anyone from State UAB even took
an AU legacy from Barbee doll this year
Grant is weak now but so far won most recruiting battles with UAB.
Although we won Lee

If you are talking about on the court performance lately, Barbee's job would be more safe than Grant's.
However, it appears Grant has a way larger buyout than Barbee, even though I thought Barbee signed a new deal last year.
I would be surprised if Mark Fox was let go after this year, but I am not quite as familiar with that situation.
It would be nice for a change though if Bruce Pearl wasn't mentioned for every dang coaching position that might come available.
While he might be a good coach, he is as sleezy as they come.

I'd like to see Pearl back at UT.

I think Pearl would like to see Pearl back at Tennessee.

One of Barbee's assistants is a patient of mine. He's been with him since his UTEP days. Nice guy. Hate to see him lose his job too but that's the biz

Frankly, Auburn has been playing better under Barbee this year than they have in any year.

The only time I've paid attention to Auburn basketball is when they built an amazing arena and nobody showed up. So I looked them up, and if this is a good year for Barbee, then the others must have been terrible. 12-12 overall, best wins against Clemson and Georgia (with Fox on the hot seat), 2-10 against the top 100, and 2 bad losses.

Basketball teams at our state universities have generally never been the "world beaters" that its football teams have been. While its BCS teams rack up "Top 300" recruits in FB, I doubt their BB teams have been that successful. How many on either the AU or the UA teams were rated at the top of their class? They are fortunate to get one or two at a time.
I believe it is a part - perhaps a large part - of the problem that top BB players don't want to play second fiddle to a FB program in a Football Only state. Even our own state's top players go to programs like UKY, Butler and UIN where they can feel appreciated. I am hopeful that the UAB BB program will develop to a level where top players want to come to it.
In regard to AU, can anyone imagine them replacing their FB stadium with a SMALLER one as they just did with BB?
