1. Don Haskins 719
2. Tony Barbee 82
3. Tim Floyd 78
4. George McCarty 75

Wow 719 for the Bear?

Damn you Wiki!! They had McCarty with 75, while our media guide has him with 77 (hence the difference with shy's post). I'll go with the media guide (even though even it has Coach starting here in 1962 instead of 1961).

Good win, Miners.

I have always had respect for Floyd, going back to his UNO days. His NBA sojourn was a bad mistake, but in the college game, I am convinced that having him on the sidelines is always worth an extra 3 or 4 victories a season for his team, compared to what they would have with an "average" coach.

Tulane is very form-full.
Any team with length and can play D destroys us.

Congrats UTEP. Nice team you have.

For Sunday? The plane ride home? Now being ready for the tv game of the week on Saturday afternoon, that's worth getting ready for! 04-cheers

Floyd's also good at finding players - I remember when he was at UNO, he found Ervin Johnson working as a bag boy...he ended up playing in the NBA.
UTEP lost, what, 3 players to start the year, and they have 5 or 6 6-10 guys who can play.
We have one 6-7inside guy who can move and a bunch of shooters
Of course, we insist on playing slow-down 1/2 court Conroy-ball, with predictable results.
