But Campbell got a contract extension...why are so many people leaving the staff now? Are we approaching 50% turnover?

Please don't read more into Watson's decision to leave than there is. It is closer to the hometown of his wife and himself. Although he has always wanted to coach at the professional level, there are some mitigating circumstances that are none of our business. They do not have anything to do with Coach Campbell or the University.

Why are so many leaving? Because:

-1 was able to get a HC job (and took our secondary coaches, which is a blessing).
-1 got a promotion from a QB coach to an OC
-1 got a big pay raise to go to the Big 12
-1 went to the NFL

Can't fault any of them for leaving. Negative spin doesn't need to be applied to everything.

Good Luck to Coach Watson, he is a fine person. He improved our special teams play. I didn't care for his recruiting, as we don't have a scholarship kicker in line or punter. He did a poor job in playing his #2 players in the blowout games and we lost some good talent as they never got to play. When I saw him and Detmer laughing right after the fake punt at Akron, I was very disappointed. We lost a huge donor to the program over not playing more specialist. I hope Cleveland works out for him and his family

His job is an assistant to an assistant coach. Lots of coaches in the NFL.

I believe a purging, turnover, from taking care of the good ole boys is a great thing.
We are GUARANTEED to seeing something new and different come Sept.
I look forward to it.

Rocketpete, I hope you have some insight. Was told Gasser has taken the position for now at least. Karma has a funny way of working things out
