20-year-old Rice student James Ragan passed away after a long battle with cancer. What an amazing story he lived. He was an outstanding young tennis player but first was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2006. It's unbelievable to me that he could have overcome that first stage of cancer and switched his athletic devotion to golf to the point of becoming an amazing athlete in that sport too.

What an inspirational story. He will be missed and I'm sure all of us want to pass on condolences to his family (which includes Mecklin Ragan, a former Rice tennis player).

It's hard really getting a handle on how tragic this is. He certainly seemed like an inspirational young man, proving he could conquer challenges that very few people can deal with gracefully.
