I like to actually attend games and am old enough to remember when one dressed as if going to church to go to a regular Saturday game. While at a game today though, I do miss "instant replay" on TV which in newer stadiums is partly handled by the new giant screen HD TVs (the one at the "Jerry Dome" in Dallas is an extreme example).

As with all evening long baseball games of the 50s & 60s, there are too many alternative things to do with a whole afternoon or evening for the modern students to spend those hours at a stadium - especially for games they are certain will not be competitive - and that's about 1/3 of a usual season's home schedule for top level teams.

I can remember when there was one game on TV a week.

One.

If you wanted to know what happened, you went to the game, listened to the radio, or read about it in the paper in the morning.

Many people have more fun outside the stadium than inside...
