New AP Poll 2/17
4 Ranked Teams:

UC #7
Louisville #11
UCONN #21
Memphis #22

I can't see "Others Receiving Votes" so I'm not sure where SMU is on that list.

Louisville #5? Not saying I don't think you guys are very good but I wouldn't have you ranked that high and wouldn't have you ranked above Cincy.

The fact that Memphis stays in the top 25 shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who watched that UConn-Memphis game on ESPN. BOTH teams played at an extremely high level. I think both will be teams that could made a run come NCAA Tournament time.

I think it would make a nice title game. 04-cheers

How the heck is Louisville #5. Resume is more 5 seed than #5 ranking. A ranking like that tells Louisville is looking at 1, 2, o 3 seed?

If SMU can take care of business this week and next, they will move back in the top 25 and we will see a ranked Memphis vs a ranked SMU in FedEx Forum. I never thought I would see that, but am thrilled it could happen. Keep it up, ponies!! Who would have thought that SMU may make the Memphis students come out??

Right now...I look at it as having 6 Regular Season Games to go...crunch time and hopefully will finish strong and continue our traditional Late Season push...04-cheers

Louisville certainly does not have a #5 resume in terms of quality wins, but I think it's very likely they are one of the best 5 teams in the country. KenPom has them #6 and Sagarin predictor has them #3.

The real reason they are ranked that high is because they beat UCONN on the road. Actually, I'm surprised they're not Number 1 after that win. It was one of the marquee victories in the history of college basketball. 04-rock

Ken Pom's adjusted offense and defensive ratings are good predictors of who ends up in the Finals. If you have a top 10 team in BOTH there's a good chance you'll see them in the Final Four. Right now Louisville has a 11 and 9 ranking in each. Looks like the best in the nation.

Louisville's conference schedule is extremely back loaded. They will probably catch 2 more regular season losses. Still have @Cincy @Memphis @SMU and UConn at home.

BTW -- there's only a handful of teams with an adjusted offense and defense both in the top 50. The AAC has three of those teams, Louisville, UConn, and Memphis. 03-wink

Hopefully, that bodes well for their tournament runs...especially the latter two.

Actually...you should be rooting for all 3 since UofL will be leaving behind it NCAA Credits...07-coffee3
