I wonder if we will host our NIT opener.

The MTSU fans were very friendly and clearly proud to be playing in C-USA (their souvenir coke cups were mostly a big "C-USA" logo with MTSU mentioned as well, I got one). I was surprised at the crowd, especially the tiny student section, considering the game was mid-day on a Saturday and two teams playing for 1st in the conference. Outside of our poor first-half play and refusal to even attempt a 3 late in the game, an enjoyable experience :)

I think Southern Miss may have brought more fans than our student section.

Good visiting crowd, esp. with USM being a longer drive.

I think our students would rather stay at home & play on their Iphones than interact socially.

The students that come are very vocal, but we need about 5 times that amount. Pathetic considering our conference records the past 3 years.

I think the attendance was somewhere around 5ki, with the USM fans and "blue hairs".

We worked hard to tire out the opposition and they give them a five minute break while they stare at the monitor like a deer in headlights. There is nothing wrong with going to the monitor. Just don't take five minutes to make a damn decision.

They really need to address this in the offseason. I swear UTEP has had a couple where the review lasted at least 10 minutes (UAB and Old Dominion). It should be like the NFL. You get one minute to figure it out. Except maybe for a fight or something like that.

It was about 5,080 I think, which was a thousand more than what we had for the Tulane game. For some reason students don't come out and support the team. I don't get it, when we're one win away from 20 on the year and a good chance of getting to the NCAA's. I don't get it. We'll probably get 6-7k for the last one, but... :(

When I asked where the student body was yesterday, one of the guys I sit with laughed and said, "Vandy is playing Texas A&M at home." He then left with 10 minutes to play in the 2nd half. I said, "Where you goin?" He replied, "UT is playing Mizzou on ESPN2 at 3:00." Dead serious.

So, so upsetting. So, so disappointing. I'd say anything less than 8k for Senior Day against Rice will be a disappointment. I guesstimated 6-7k show up, but I'd love to be wrong. That will only happen if the darn students show up. I've said it all along - promo it the hell up... 01-lauramac2

Poor turnout in both football and mbb this year for MT from the students which is a shame considering the on field success

Glad to hear it has improved. The previous three halves had been horrendous.

you'll hardly ever hear me get on DT, but he went with the wrong press schem in the last two games....he's scared of going with a man press and getting beat in transition, but what is happening is the transition 3 is becoming a problem....the teams we play know this....

Well, he has only been a head coach for 7.75 seasons. Maybe, he'll learn from this two-game stretch.

c'mon man....you know I love DT, but we all make mistakes from time to time....we ran the wrong press scheme against the last two opponents and got burnt....in the half court, we weren't bad

disclaimer: assuming you watched the game

Agreed. That's what I was talking about.

I seriously doubt there were many of our students at the Vandy Texas A&M game. They were more than likely somewhere else staring at their smart phones like someone else mentioned. Pathetic either way.
