That is the UAB team I have been expecting to see all year. And even with that we didn't live up to our full potential with Swing and Faz having pretty average nights.

Unfortunately as I said before we are good enough to beat anyone but still lose to anyone. You can see a real difference in the intensity UAB plays with against these top teams compared to teams like ECU. Too bad our guys haven't been bringing it every night like they did last night.

It will be interesting going into the conference tourney. We could very well lose the first day or win it all. We've lost to the worst teams in conference and either beaten or played toe to toe with the best teams in conference. Maddening.

Maybe Haase has gotten through to them. Three games of misery against the worst of our conference followed by a beat down of the team with the best record in CUSA.... Sounds like something has changed.

Everything looks better when the shots are falling.

It's not just that. That certainly helps, but the intensity UAB played with last night on the defensive side of the ball in particular was as good as it's been all year.

I know. I was pleased with the defense, because USM was pretty jacked up, too.

How long as Neil Watson been in a mask? I don't know if it affected him or not, but he sure didn't play like he typically does against us.

He's played in the mask all year. It does not affect his play. He's the second leadingfree throw shooter in the country.

Thanks. I hadn't seen them play and didn't know. I knew he was a free throw machine, and he went 4/4 last night, didn't he?

On D, CJ described it best. "Get in front of them and make them shoot over us, because they're not real tall."

Both Foz and Tosin had bigger games than their stats would indicate.

This opinion may not be very popular, but I think Swing's increased minutes was a factor in the win, despite his three points. Despite not scoring, he is doing a lot of other things to facilitate out there, and I would be willing to wager the +/- numbers reflect that. It was nice to see him hit one last night.

Also, it's hard to believe with the schedule we've played that Southern Miss would be our largest margin of victory to date!

Outside of scoring, he had a good game.

The loudest cheers of the night:

1. When Tosin drew the foul and it rolled ALL THE FRIGGIN' WAY AROUND THE RIM IN SLOW MOTION before dropping in.

2. Frazier's 2 threes while getting knocked on his ass.

3. Swing's three.

I don't know about last night, but Swings +/- has been about the best on the team.

I was sitting next to a scout for the Utah Jazz. Somebody asked him about Swing, and his comment was "Swing needs to go to Europe."

That said, he may not score much, but he's doing a lot of the little things that help a team win, both he and Rob Williams do.

NBA is nice and all but those roster spots are few and cap rules screw with ability of fringe players to make it. Basketball in Europe is more like soccer. You can have a very nice career in Europe. Less risky IMO

Definitely. Swing did all the little things that help a team win last night. He set up many open shots with the hockey assist, and he took good care of the ball and played good defense.

Swing is at least a threat to hit from 3 even when he doesn't. So that forces the D to respect him more than they do some of our other perimeter players.

Tosin had a really good game last night, so did Madison he's a lot faster than I thought he was.
