Loved the play of the freshman last night.
I know in my gut that Denzell has ability to drive and score and shoot the jumper, he just needs to believe it.

Tyler Madison showed some great quickness and instinct for the rim. He earned more minutes last night.

Mehinti played great D. He is a blocking, swatting, force out there.

The future is bright.

Everything looks better when the shots fall.

Good game by our Blazers, everyone played hard, and they looked like the better team.
Frazier uncheckable bad matchup all night
Washington, opened up the lanes, rebounded, defended well.
Rucker, had his way all night inside, matchup nightmare, caused havoc and drew fouls and almost fouled the front court out by himself.
Faz, huge in the middle, took up alot of space, strong very strong
All starters, all juco..

We started slowly to build the lead and played with consistent intensity to build and maintain it. I saw only a couple of WTF turnovers due to carelessness with the ball. We had a good shooting night while USM had a much less successful one. Taking good care of the ball reduces the opponent's opportunities to score to just earned shots. Our intense pressure forced USM into some of the play gaffes that have been so injurious to UAB recently. Perhaps the team has "gelled" as we hoped it would.
