I shall be looking to make the drive to Toledo for the game, how hard would tickets be to get and how much?

Well lately crowds have been 6k+, with the arena holding 7,300. So there could be a possibility of a sell out since it will be the last home game of the season and UT could be playing for a regular season MAC championship & #1 seed.

Tickets cost about $7-10 in the upper level.

You should be able to walk up but I'd get there an hour early or if you know you're coming order thru tix office and pick them up at will call. If you want lower bowl that would be best.

No reach, literalist.

It's as plain as the nose on your face.

It's called having class.

Does that need to be explained?

Equating the classlessness of kids chanting to the classlessness of a kid getting busted for a DUI? A bit broad, I'd say.

One student waved his water bottle full of liquid which he claimed to be alcohol and asked Drummond if he needed a sip. But at the convo outside beverages are prohibited. I wonder why the lady security guard didn't take it away?? On the off chance a college student actually brought alcohol (more likely than an off chance as he stumbled up the stairs), the guy could/should have gotten in trouble. Now what if he got behind the wheel after that game? He is making the same mistake Drummond made, and is a hippocrite for even making the joke. Athletes are put under a microscope, and although shouldn't be totally forgiven, should not be heald to a higher standard than the normal student.

I imagine that EMU's ticket office will have tickets for sale for away games as well and you might want to check with them. Visitors often sit directly behind their teams' bench in section 110 so you might ask the EMU ticket office where their tickets are for the game and buy them thru EMU.

Public figures who get busted for crimes can and should get ripped for it. And yes, MAC basketball players are public figures.

I don't have a problem with the EMU students that ripped Drummond for that. It would happen at most schools...the problem that I had with it is that I was really hoping Drummond and the Rockets would shut them up and they didn't. Besides that, only the middle-aged college student bothered me.

Whats worse----

the Rockets can contend and play in the game in storied Allen Fieldhouse with 16,000 screaming Jayhawk fans but then go to Convo in front of 1600, half prolly for UT and choke badly.

Now you have me wishing that we could have played Kansas. 03-lmfao

That said, the odds on the game in Vegas were even. People who do this for a living saw a (slightly) better team visiting a team which was playing its 'Super Bowl."

Lot of MAC games from here out will be 50 - 50 type games. Six top teams when playing each others will be favored probably only at home.

I expect EMU to be looking at revenge from WMU Sunday (in K'zoo) and the Rockets (in Toledo) March 8.

I can see the Broncos and Rockets circling those games against us.

Well, KU was up and down for the beginning of the season, looks like they are straightening things out.

EMU did play Duke who KU did beat in Chicago.

The final stretch should be some great games and a crazy finish including the tourney. Any of the 6 top teams will be hard to beat in Cleveland.

First things first, EMU and UT have to win tonight against no push overs to even keep this argument going.

And don't forget Western. No one has been circling them on their calendars but coming home with a "L".

As I posted elsewhere I wish I could bet, like they do in Vegas, to pick the MAC tourney winner.

We're going to have probabilities like UT 18%, say WMU and Akron 16% each, UB 14, EMU 13, Ohio 12. Rest about 10% combined.

Not even close to the odds once the field is set. The #1 and #2 seeds will be about 25% each or higher to win it all. The #3 and #4 seeds will be about 15% each, and the #5-12 seeds can split the other 20%.

It's really not 6 teams with a great shot once the tourney is set. It's 2 teams with a great shot and 2 more teams with a decent chance. The 5 and 6 seeds have to win two games just to catch up and there is not that much difference between whoever those teams are and the teams they will play. If you are are in the 5-12 seed range, it's a dogfight to be one of the two teams who survive Monday and Wednesday.

Trying to figure out who are the strongest teams now is not easy, but the biggest clue would be to see which teams have lost to the weaker 3-4 teams this season. That would be UB, EMU, and OU, plus OU has personnel issues. I'd look for two of those to be on the outside looking in. Akron also has personnel issues, but they have hung tougher than OU.

There is no honor in being #5 or #6.

You're right as to what happens ONCE the field is set on March 8, but now?

BTW, I do like your knowledge of statistics.

The #1 and #2 seeds are probably, as you indicate, 25% each. P(winning semi) = .50 and the p(winning final) = .5 so .5 x .5 = .25 (that equates to 3:1 odds of winning a semi and the finals).

But you are right that .25 is probably too low as the p(winning semi) is more like .6 rather than .5 so .6 x .5 = .30 as the #1 will face an 'inferior team' in the semis.

My crystal ball is foggy as to whom #1 and #2 will be so I can't say: #1, seed, Toledo: 3:1 or even 5:2. (#1 seed could be Akron, or WMU or ?).

Well, you had said "We're going to have probabilities like..." and I just thought I'd point out that we will not have odds like that.

Axeme,

You are correct, but I don't know if MAC tourney champion futures are available NOW in Vegas.

If so, one could bet any of the 12 teams and lock in the odds at today's odds. Toledo might be 4:1. Maybe CMU is 75:1.

Last March, Florida State was 40:1 to win the NC (FB) game. The first week in September, after FSU beat Pitt, the odds fell to 20:1. That's what I got.
