Doubt the rule sticks. Would change football a lot.

Here is your rules oversight committee. They will have final say. Still feel confident?

Shelley E. Appelbaum, senior women's administrator, Michigan State University

Kristy Bayer, assistant athletic director/head volleyball coach, Arkansas Tech University

Jeff Hurd, commissioner, Western Athletic Conference

Sue E. Lauder, athletic director, Fitchburg State University

Noreen Morris, commissioner, Northeast Conference

Lynn Oberbillig, athletic director, Smith College

Derita Ratcliffe, senior associate athletic director, University of Alabama-Birmingham

Larry Scott, commissioner, Pac-12

Jon A. Steinbrecher, commissioner, Mid-American Conference

Lisa M. Sweany, athletic director, Armstrong Atlantic State University

Doug Zipp, athletic director, Shenandoah University

If it isn't overturned, this could be the catalyst for the FBS breaking from the rest of division 1 as there will surely be an uproar that Shenandoah U, Fitchburg St, Armstrong Atlantic, Smith College etc are involved in football decisions.

It probably won't pass. But SABANS solution will be the COUGH COUGH! Fake injury alert.

Auburn runs the hurry up and fakes injuries. They should be rooting hard for the rule not to pass.

What if you are behind two touchdowns with 4 minutes left? You can't go as fast as possible to try and win until 2 minutes? That is stupid.

Exactly, and what about a team that has a bunch of early turnovers and is even further behind? They can't hurry up? What about when the D jumps off sides and you get a quick snap and knee to catch them off sides? If that is within 10 seconds then -- penalty on the offense? Off setting? Stupid! The Offense should have control of the tempo.... slow or fast - never seen a guy get hurt hurrying to his spot on the field - if anything, probably puts a guy out of position on defense and he no longer needs to be blocked, so hey.. maybe one less collision and less injuries. Dumb rule.

Remember the stupid clock not stoping rules that they repealed a few years ago? That was meant to speed the game up for TV. Yea, I see it being beneficial to slooow the game now, don't you? NOT! Don't see this happening.

Interesting thing I heard about this last week. Tim Brando was going to have UL MOANrow coach Todd Berry on. Tim a UL-MOANrow alum wanted to know why Berry favored and approved the rule change. I guess Berry knowing he will be canned sooner or later wants some love with Saban as his job was saved by the quick spread offense and a one man wrecking crew.

I heard a joke on the radio this morning that Saban was told that there will be a rule that will limit how many 4+ star players that you can have on the team, but the sad thing is that I could actually see that being suggested.

This should be proposed to prevent player injury. A team can't have too many 4 & 5 star players because they would be more likely to injure players on a team of just 2 & 3 star players because they would be faster and stronger. I have no evidence to support this, but it makes perfect sense.

THIS!!! It is not always about the Auburn's and Oregon's it is also about teams that catch a few bad breaks early on and have a real shot at a comeback. How would you like it if your team had a few bad uncharacteristic turnovers to vastly inferior opponent and have any chance of coming back crushed 10 seconds at a time. Saban and coaches like him are really cowards, they could give two rips about player safety.

Larry Scott will swing a big stick in that room.

So traditionally Arkansas has had to do "more with less". They have not gotten the sort of talent and physical abilities that allow them to just bull rush their way through the SEC West.

But now Bert has a theory that he CAN recruit the size and power to stand toe to toe with the rest of the SEC using "normal American football". He believes that he can build a team there that will physically shove Bama out of the way.

And because of this theory Razorback fans are supportive of Bert pushing this rule. If his theory doesn't pan out then this rule may screw Arkansas over pretty good. Because the HUNH spread is a talent equalizer and they find someday....when Bert is gone....that they wish they could do that.

Arkansas's coach looks porcine.
