Reed, Harper to end Rebel home career Saturday night

It all comes to an end for two of Ole Miss' best basketball players Saturday.

Ole Miss (12-14, 4-11 Southeastern Conference) plays Arkansas (12-14, 4-11) at 2 p.m. Saturday in the last regular season game of the season. Saturday's game will also be the last home game for Rebel seniors Justin Reed and Aaron Harper.

For the first time since the late spring and early summer of 1993, Reed and Harper very well might not be playing together after this season.

Reed and Harper go hand-in-hand. It seems as if these two guys have been together since the beginning of time.

It almost appears that they would not be the same players they are today if they had not played together most of their lives.

The two form one of the best tandems in Division-1 college basketball. Both Reed and Harper rank among the top-10 in the nation in scoring tandems.

Reed's 18.6 and Harper's 17 points-per-game rank them first in scoring tandems in the Southeastern Conference.

With just one regular season home game left in their careers, the two have come a long way since their childhood days growing up in Jackson.

oh btw, this was also in that article....

Immediately, these two impacted the Ole Miss team from the start. In just their first season at Ole Miss, Harper and Reed helped carry their team to a Sweet-16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The next year, they were able to lead Ole Miss to yet another NCAA Tournament appearance before losing to UCLA in the first round.

sweet 16 in just 2001. Feels like a lifetime ago......... :frown:
