Interesting read, but the following sentence puzzles me:

Last week Toledo signed five from Florida whom Candle coaxed into venturing north and 10 players overall fleeced by the coaching staff’s top salesman.

Uh, it seems like someone is unaware that "fleece" means to swindle or dupe. It comes across as a very negative statement. I think the Rockets deserve better than that.

That's along the lines of us supposedly stealing players from BC$ programs as mentioned by some dork asking questions at the signing press conference. Bullcrap. We have a fine football program and we deserve great players every bit as much as the BC$ programs. We don't steal anything and anybody who things we do lacks vision and shouldn't have anything to do with our football program IMHO.

Fleeced is not the right word, no way. If you get the chance read the article on the same page about the OSUcks coach who is their recruiting guru...he claims to have texted on guy every day for the last 2 years...really? OMG no wonder some of these kids feel they are gods gift to the world.
Most important comment for me was to hear Matt C say that all of our recent success in recruiting has not = same success on the field...AMEN, AMEN, AMEN! Go Rockets!

100% agree. Coaches makes these kids seems like a King when recruiting them - telling them everything that they want to hear, and then some - then they expect them to be just another one of the 100+ guys on the team.

Everytime I read a College Football or Basketball recruiting article, I somehow feel compelled to shower afterwards;

"Gutless." "Confusing names." "Fleeced."
