RE: Thomas Hammock to the Ravens
Wow I thought he might be coming back here sometime, but apparently his career is taking a different direction. He has produced some great RBs no doubt. Congrats.

Good for him. His final TD in the Wake game back in 02 was a thing of beauty.

It truly was.

He's had a great coaching career. Well earned move for him.

Just depends what he wants to do and how things shake out here. Certainly not impossible that he ends up as the HC here in 2-5 years.

A recruiter with NFL experience in Dekalb? Love to see him back on Huskie sideline someday.

What a ridiculous idea:

Bruce Feldman ‏@BFeldmanCBS 14m

#Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen tells CBS star RB Melvin Gordon will be involved in hiring process of new #Badgers RB coach w Hammock leaving

Seems smart to me to involve players in the process.

Well, first of all, I'm sure Gordon is long gone after next year. So, having a one year player being involved in hiring a coach who hopefully stays for a long time doesn't make sense to me. I'm not sure it's a great idea even in the NFL, but in college, I don't think it makes sense in general to have a college player involved in the search.

And this kind of thinking is why players are beginning to unionize. Players feel slighted (and some with scholarships taken away) when their coach leaves. I'm sure Wisky coach wants Gordon to feel a little less worry by being part of the process. Really a good call.

I believe that was his last official carry.

Yep, my buddy Nino had to help him off the field after that. I don't think people realize that he was in bad shape. Ended up going to Mayo Clinic to get the official diagnosis.
