RE: Question for the Texas Four...
I know that I'm in the minority on the Rice board, but I think CUSA is a perfect fit. The AAC is loaded with small, private schools (Tulsa, SMU and Tulane) in the West. That doesn't bode well for sustained growth and ticket sales. North Texas, UTSA and Louisiana Tech will bring greater numbers to Rice Stadium than Tulsa, SMU and Tulane. When UTEP is playing well, their fans travel well also.
I'll miss the annual game against UH, but we can play one another during OOC in the future. I also don't think it would be good for both Houston universities to be in the same conference. There would be too much market saturation. The same teams coming in year after year wouldn't be good for Rice and UH.
Finally, I see enormous growth potential in CUSA. All of our members are making big investments in athletics infrastructure. This tells me that no one here is ready to settle, but rather looking to grow and become something significant. CUSA will be much better, top to bottom, in 5 years than it is right now. Let those folks have the AAC. I hope we all stay together. We could really build some meaningful rivalries here in Texas over the next several years.

Are there any Rice/Houston games scheduled for the future?

None at this point. This year will be the fist year with no Rice game. I think its a mistake to let that tradition go.

I don't know about that. What about usc and ucla being in the same city? And L.A. is large like Houston.

RE: Question for the Texas Four...
So...
It appears the general feeling from fans of the 4 Texas teams in C-USA are:
Rice- Most fans want to chase their old SWC buddies to the AAC. Some fans see advantages to the new western division and are happy to stay in C-USA.
UTEP- Some fans want to move back to the MWC. Some want to stay with the Texas schools. Didn't seem like fans wanted to move to the AAC.
UTSA- Seems like the UTSA fans are ready to jump at an AAC offer if one were ever to materialize.
UNT- I have no clue what other UNT fans want. I didn't see where any responded. Not fair to claim my views are those of other UNT fans, so I won't represent a position for UNT.

All I can say is, I was really disappointed when Tulane, Tulsa, and ECU announced they were leaving CUSA. We hardly got to know ya. Nothing against our former SBC mates, but FIU, WKU, and FAU do nothing for me.

Yeah, and your probably one of those guys I'll have to get imported beer, right, Pony95?
Food? Grilled brats'...what else. I'll sneak over to Harry's tailgate area and sneak some of Chef Tell Evan's famous bratwurst from his special sausage recipe.
You'll have to provide the Nexium after all that.

LOL!
SMU athletic officials are trying to get our games moved to the Cotton Bowl stadium, what do you think?
Gut feeling tells me it will probably stay home and home.

Have not heard anything about that. Seems stupid to move the game.
