Sports writers wanted to say UTEP came out flat in the game vs Rice.

Here is a quote from Floyd about that:

"I don't want to talk about we were flat, we were this, we were that," Floyd said. "I'd rather talk about Rice, what a great job their coach (Ben Braun) did, the way they came in here and played with poise in front of our crowd. We don't win that game on the road without our crowd. They were phenomenal."

Well that, and the fact that CTF put in a smaller squad to counter Rices speed. That's good coaching, he deserves a lot of credit too. As soon as he did that the Miners were able to keep up with the speedy Owls as they were so fast. Especially Guency, he's a spark plug. No.22 reminds me of Memphis' Jackson, a lot, and he plays like Jackson too. Amazing to think he's only a freshman.

I agree, Rice was a pretty fast team! That line up down the stretch was the difference maker... That and Cooper's 4 ptr! lol
