Back in the day he was known as Jehu Anderson and he was a decent cornerback.

OK, that helps. Thought I found another George O'Leary.

IIRC he sported a huge fro during one of the ESPN games...Marshall? BG? It was sweet.

Had good speed and a pretty hard hitter as I recall.

My memory is foggy but I seem to recall that he had a super freshman year but IMO he never really improved much over the next three years as I thought he would with the additional experience.
Even if that is true, he won't be the first player I have held that opinion about.
Anyway, congratulations to him on his new head coaching position.

RE: Jay Anderson
Isn't he the one that did half his hair on one side in curls (corn rows) and the other half was a huge fro?????
didn't he wear #37?????
good speed but sometimes he got beat deep, badly.
Some of Amstutz's comments on Anderson's hair was pretty funny.

If I remember, he was closer to being 5 ft. tall than he was to being 6 ft. tall. Fun to watch, but couldn't always clear that height hurdle.

RE: Jay Anderson
I seem to recall Jehu wearing #24, but I could be wrong. I also recall that he seemed to have a great freshman season, but never quite lived up to expectations after that, solid but not great.

Jehu was opposite Brandon Hefflin who frankly was a bigger disappointment from freshman to Senior season.
Those were some amazing seasons.

If memory serves me (and it doesn't always..), Jehu had great closing speed and could deliver a lick. However, he didn't always [ahem..] react quickly to changes in his environment (if you know what I'm sayin').
Yeah, I think he had an impressive freshman season and, IIRC, a pretty decent senior season. As Fred stated, he was a decent corner.
Always glad to hear about the success of former (and especially current) Rockets.
