You guys need to focus on getting to .500 in football or basketball before the whoring begins.

I'm a little suprised you had the stones to show up this soon after the hell you gave the people over here for being 4th tier last year. lmfao

BTW Notice I haven't started any threads like like Sir Galhad or announcements like The Knight Time that you got a 2 for 1 with Texas. Just responding to some common misconceptions.

Quote: ECU hasn't been above .500 in football in 5 years and 10 years in hoops.

We also haven't played in the MAC and ASUN like you guys, either. Hey here is an idea. Maybe you guys should win more than 6 TOTAL D1a wins against teams with winning records in your entire history before you try to talk.

not as good a fit a buffalo.... but not bad... gives cincy a travel partner.

Cinci has a travel partner, Louisville. The two schools are approximately an hour and 40 minutes apart.

Who is USF's travel partner?

Southwest Airlines? ;-)

USF doesnt need a travel partner. We didnt have one in CUSA and we dont need one in Big East.

Travel partners wouldn't be to benefit S. Fla. They are for the non-revenue sports for all the other members. They can play two road games on one trip to florida. It wouldn't do anything for S. Fla because you play UCF in most sports.

They're a national name like West Virginia and Louisville and have a strong national championship tradition. If we can get 3 Top 25 programs with national names out there the Big East will definitely be strong. Syracuse rising back to national prominence or at least bowl quality, would just be the icing on the cake.

-- agreed....although IMO its critical that one of the northern teams really step up (Uconn, Syracuse and Rutgers)...if one of them jumps into the top 25 it really helps the BE a lot in terms of exposure.... the Uconn/Rutgers game has a lot of potential if both programs continue to develop

Good point. We need the northern schools, particularly the more northeastern schools, to be a national name to take more advantage of our markets.

You are wrong. UC beat Toledo the last time the teams played in basketball. However, your statement is meaningless in that UC and Toledo have never played that many games. Toledo will not get into the Big East.

Also, wasn't Cincy instrumental in keeping Toledo out of CUSA?

I don't know about that, you might be right. I thought Toledo wasn't interested in going anywhere without Miami though unless it was to a BCS conference. But you could be a right about Toledo, that's the first time I heard about it but it wouldn't surprise me. Marshall was also trying to get into C-USA so Toledo might have been trying to join them.

Hoops ?

Memphis is much more attractive with FedEX Forum at $250 Million and 6 straight win seasons. They have a good history with Hoops. When conparing football these 3 teams can be compared. I would give Memphis the nod. They have invested in their football w/ 4 practice fields and but $6million in facility renovations. /They have been to 3 consecutive Bowls. They also have a decent fan base. While UCF has potential in football that all it is...potential. The $ that is generated with the hoop is a huge part of the expansion issue.
If ECU or UCF fans could add their hoops info for discussion....! Sorry do not have that info. I am a UMass fan and would like UMass to go D-1. I realize other schools are much more attractive at this point if the Big East divides and expands to 9 football teams.

Nova is the other possibility but they are at the bottom of the Atlantic -10 in football. I see expansion issue arising in 4 years so the courtship in my mind has already started.

Here's info on UCF's new Convocation Center that is opening up next fall (same month as UCF's first ever on-campus Football Stadium)

PS. UCF still has a way to go in regards to Hoops, even though the Knights finished 5th in CUSA during their first year of competition. By just moving out of the lowly ASUN and moving into CUSA last year, that has helped UCF Basketball recruiting greatly....but UCF will still need another 3-4 strong recruiting classes to begin to challenge for the top spot in CUSA.

The Big East doesn't have or use travel partners. To my knowledge, the Pac 10 is the only large conference that has true travel partners.

Exactly. And Pitt and West Virginia are pseudo traveling partners.

Correct...some Olympic Sports visit/play Pitt and WVU on the same road trips.

Same for a few other schools as well.

Why don't we curtail the sampling period to the last four years? Discuss.

You are correct because they are the last conference to keep their Thurs/Sat. or Sun. schedule format. The rest of the leagues in basketball will play on any day of the week now.

I think most when they mention "travel partner" think minor-Olympic Sports...not Football or Basketball.

And yes...Big East uses "travel partners/advantages" when scheduling some Olympic sport schedules.
