What are your fundraising ideas then? 1-23 isn't exactly the kind of record you can sell to potential season ticket buyers or donors.

Nor is 60-0 losses to Alabama....

he asked for additional alternatives not a complaint about what you think the score would be

there is a difference between selling a home game for dollars and scheduling one w/o impacting the home schedule

and you mentioned "small"....doesn't get any bigger than bama...and do you really think they would ever schedule a home and home

from a business standpoint, this a slam dunk
No difference whatsoever, like I said think small, remain small...

Never mind they always win. But the money's good.

6-34-2...all in the state of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile)

that's the beauty of it....25% w/t rate to boot....a lot of close games also

that is an attractive match-up every year
It is actually a better win percentage than ole miss, and is even more impressive when you realize we have played them more often than ole miss has. The bears only have two wins all time against them.
Ole Miss has 9 wins against Alabama....

7-48-2 per http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/scho...-head.html

basically the same w/t percentage of games played

Gotta agree. Yes the $$ is great, but getting your ass handed to you on a national stage does nothing good for team or conference branding. Much better to schedule a tough but winnable opponent.C-USA needs lots and lots of OOC wins. Preferably against lower tier P-5 teams.

Bingo...our fans have been so used to it over a 50 year period they have convinced it is great for us. Actually, it is a lazy man's days work so he can get by to next year.

...and that "tough winnable" team that would be willing to schedule home and home would be????

thinking lower tier p5 teams are tough is small time...

I agree with you guys, but with this Southern Miss team (not talking smack) a loss to Alabama for $1.4m is better than a loss to a Sun Belt, MAC or even FCS team as part of a home and home. In a normal stretch I totally agree, body bag games should be off limits because that's a wasted game.

Then again 'we' don't need the money, the USM AD has a different hat on and different responsibilities.

since you work in the ath dept, tell me why this isn't happening.....and the byu/msu home games are already in doubt

ILL, Va...nobody cares...throw in any other lower tier school you choose that one time had a program..... pitt, syr, vandy, colorado, etc....would rather play someone with history or geographic significance...more fan interest and travel benefits are just two reasons

Navy is an 8 year payback...2019 for that one....and that generates zero ticket sales

VT and UL ever again.....doubtful...very doubtful

OSU....maybe if monk has any pull...still very doubtful we could pull that off

BYU and MSU home/home games....we'll see if they happen....and they won't year to year

you really aren't getting the leverage to benefit ratio portion of this equation

keep on thinking small sir....

did you ever take into account what the dollars over time could provide moving forward....granted, if spent correctly...you do drive in hbg don't you...it's no different than our roadway infrastructure...I'm guessing you went white flight to oak grove and biatch about that too, eh.....
