Yep. This isn't a foolproof way, but is probably the best way to judge.

I would have to disagree. Stars mean nothing, except you were able to go to the right camps/clinics. I think Duke fans will be pleasantly pleased with their 6ft3.5in 220lb Rb who runs a 4.4.

The guy you linked has profile that lists 200 and lists a 4.5 (4.49) HS 40..

RE: Transfers
Yeah, to be fair, every RB looks like a beast on a HS highlight tape. We 6 on the roster with similar tapes. It's hard to tell how they'll turn out. He looks very similar to Cardon Johnson's tape. BTW, he's back practicing after his injury. Doubt he'll play at this late stage of the year but that's a faster than expected recovery. He was very much in the top of the mix in the spring before he got hurt. Again, I don't expect all these guys to stick around. They want to play and that's understandable.

Tyler?

Lots were excited when he signed with JMU. Can never have too many RBs. Remember 2004?

So what is the deal with him? He's spending a year at nova before coming to JMU for academic reasons? Is he able to stay in shape this way?

And the 4.5 may have become a 4.6. I don't get excited at HS films. We've seen countless on here who looked like world beaters on their HS films and weren't so good when they got to JMU..

Transfers are ok, but like someone else said they are leaving for a reason. Are you suggesting that the level of competition is so subpar that a guy that can't touch the field at a D1 is going to automatically tear D1AA up.

His grades are good and from what I understand he has been training.

Not Tyler, just one of the ones excited about the signing. I believe he will be able to step right in and contribute.
