Question for those of you that live/have lived in Murfreesboro
So I am sitting here watching Bar Rescue on SpikeTV. They are at a bar that before the show was named Fairways Golf & Grill and during the show it they renamed it Brew U. What was the reputation of this bar? I don't know if anyone has seen this episode but they had mold on top of mold in the kitchen to the point that mushrooms were growing off the walls in the walk-in coolers. Just curious to hear real life accounts of this bar and how they may differ from this TV show. How was it before and how is it now? Has it fallen back into a dump? Was there any truth to what they showed?

Honestly, this show is RIGGED. I've met the crew and the cast. They know what they are getting into when they arrive and before the show starts filming. They literally came to Murfreesboro and approached every bar to see if the owner would want a renovation. They chose the ones who said "yes" (all locally owned since corporations steer clear of these things) and then they met with the crew/owners and heard about the problems. Fairways Bar and Grill used to be Coaches. Coach Stock used to do his Monday evening interviews there. It went out and then Fairways came in. It has never been, nor is it a popular bar in Murfreesboro. The location sucks, the owner is back to his old antics because he's lazy, and Brew U will be out of business soon. They also filmed at the MT Bottle which is out of Murfreesboro city limits towards Shelbyville. That place is T.R.A.S.H.Y. On top of that, Bar Rescue bought them a liquor license for 1 month. When MT Bottle (which Bar Rescue renamed Bottles and Cans) went to renew the license after the 1 month trial, they found out that Murfreesboro does not allow liquor licenses outside of the city limits. Therefore, they can't renew. Don't believe that crap on TV. There's always a catch. We have good bars in town. They just aren't on that show.
