MORGANTOWN - It seems almost ancient history now, but a year ago West Virginia had three freshman tailbacks with some terrific credentials.
# Steve Slaton surpassed his hype and then some, going from deep on the depth chart to 1,000-yard rusher and Sugar Bowl MVP.
# Jason Gwaltney never approached his potential, sliding quickly from the most-hyped WVU recruit in a generation to leaving school before the season ended.
