While each of the has had moments, injuries and/or difficulty making the transition to this level have prevented this. But, we have received more significant contributions from Krunch and Janelle than I thought we could, and I felt we had to have either Ana or Stephanie step up; while injuries have resulted in an "incomplete" grade for Recker, Capotosto has had some nice offensive games, if somewhat inconsistent. Record-wise, I think we're only a game, maybe two, off of a reasonable pace for this particular team. Will be curious to see where we are after the first run thru the conference. If they are all healthy, and if we are sitting at something like 3-6 in the MAC at that point, I'd like to see the freshmen play much more the rest of the way--mistakes and all. Next year's class looks quite good on paper--but we need to begin focusing on the future sooner than later.

I agree with your post. Its difficult for me to understand how a team can have five players in double figure scoring average/game and not be able to win consistently. Suggests to me that there must be major weaknesses on the defensive end. Hard to evaluate the recruitment class until they get into games. There will be 11 freshman and sophomores on next years roster. All with limited or zero minutes experience at college level. I guess I would call this year a stop gap year and next year the major rebuilding year.

Cullop has clearly lost her coaching touch and is running the program into the ground. I mean with all of the depth Toledo has, I just don't understand these performances. Yeah 5 seniors graduated last year, but former role players should be blossoming into superstars by now. All of this losing makes me very depressed. I just sit at home, drinking cheap vodka, drinking cheap vodka and watching the WNIT championship over and over. I was going to give my tickets away, but I didn't want to put others through that kind of pain. I'll just finish out the season. I've gotten used to crying myself to sleep. I hope I can make it through the week.

Laying off the cheap vodka might cure your saying double problem.

I just want to scream STOP! This is the same coach who turned this program around in one season. Did she forget how to coach? Did she forget how to recruit? I will answer those questions...NOOOOOO!

It is interesting to me how quickly people forget where we were at.

Sometimes it is hard to understand what is going on with a team. I don't think most of us know how hard it is to develop an inexperience team into one that lives up to past three years. We have been blessed and spoiled.

This could end up being a great recruiting class before they graduate. How many of last years graduating class started or were big contributors their freshman year? Only one and a half.

Someone made a comment about Lindsey that really bothered me. She did not disappear before she got hurt in practice and ended up in the hospital. She as a foot injury that has put professional players on the sidelines for a year. Ask her about the pain she went through with the injection she had and her rehab.

I am sorry but I get upset listening to those who have no clue what is going on behind the scenes with this years team. I don't know everything going on either, but I do know this is a very talented freshmen class. I do know we have one of the best coaching staffs in the country.

This isn't last years team. But they will be get better if we accept the fact that our younger players need time get healthy and gain experience.

I know everyone has an opinion. That is what I am offering. All I am saying is be realistic. We have never had such as inexperienced a team as we have this year. Give them time to grow. It will happen.

My guess is that those making negative comments have never coached ..maybe not played the game.

Falconplucker was being sarcastic. And it's pretty hyperbolic to say we've never had such an inexperienced team. We've had a team with no college experience whatsoever back in the 70 s and others with little experience since. We'll be fine, though. It's a measure of Cullop's success that fans struggle to accept a season like this.

Comment about Lindsey was that after her rehab and medical clearance to play she was in for nearly 20 minutes two games in a row scoring double figures each game. Then the next four games before her head injury she played only 8 minutes. Given a need for 3 point shooters, I was questioning why her minutes declined to nothing so fast. Why would that bother you? If you have inside information that the rest of us don't, e.g. that she had a relapse in her injury, then just tell us that. But I doubt that is the explanation because she did play a couple of minutes each game.

By the way if you think this team is inexperienced wait until you see next year's team!

You are right about next year. Time will tell. I was not trying to make it sound like anyone was less informed than I am. My comment about Lindsey was made in her defense. She has plantar fasciitis. It is a very painful injury that is hard to treat. That type of injury can last for extremely long periods of time. An athlete with that type of problem can feel good for a period of time then suddenly it comes back. Let's hope it goes away before next season. I know we are all concerned for her. We can know how tough this years has been for her.

You are right. I stand corrected. I have been attending the ladies games since the 70's. There were very few fans in the stands. There was a benefit that went along with lack of fans. You could walk in at game time and find the perfect seat to watch the game. Thank god that has changed with wonderful fan base the Ladies have now. The first couple of years the girls coming out of high school had very little experience because girl's basketball was just getting started at the started at the state level. You made a good point, there was very little experience at the university level, I just forgot to think back to those days. We can all celebrate how far women's sports have come and how much fun we are having as fans.

I loved your comment about Coach Cullop and her success. You said it best! Thanks for the insight!
