ecK:So true, BB....I think it's OU 100, Miami 91 the last time I checked for the all time record in hoops.

I might point out, however, that Miami has a winning record vs OU in MAC games. Ohio was much better in the preMAC era.

Ball State @ WMU in about 45 minutes. Atmosphere will be lacking since I'm staying home with a sick child, BUT Ball State should get stomped nonetheless.

That makes it 12-17 for the home court lads.

Kent @ UT is a good one. ESPN3 and other networks, including ESPN's Full Court package.

I watched the game on ESPN3. Excellent game, but I didn't like the FT disparity. Kent is more than a jump shooting team.

Check Toledo box scores.. For one reason or another they always get to the free throw line more than their opponents. They had a 24-6 edge on UB in the game that Buffalo lost by two. And yes Buffalo is more than a jump shooting team as well.

RE: Men's Basketball Week of Jan 20 - 26
TOLEDO GIVES UP UNCONTESTED BASKETS. We don't foul much going to the basket. Our big man had 4 fouls two of which were ticky tack. It isn't like they don't call fouls on us. More often than most teams tho, Toledo slashes and gets fouled. It's how we play. Every game this season. Toledo isn't lucky every game because they go to the line more. The trend is the way we play.

Toledo played pretty poor except in stretches like the last 4 minutes. With 21secs left in he first half we were up 5 shooting foul shots, missed 1/1, Fouled em on the rebound to give KSU 1/1 and they made both. Toledo walked down stepped out of bounds. KSU went the length and hit a 3 in the remaining 5 secs, to make it a 1 point lead for UT at half.

Not to mention Kent was up 67-61 with 5 mins left and the ball. Idk if the post meant Kent didn't get chances or what, but Toledo shot atrocious and the win came from getting to the rack and shooting free throws when shots weren't falling.

my rant for the day...

Not much in the way of cheap calls. Kent got their money's worth on their fouls. Rockets intentionally fouled at half court with a 3 point lead and about a second left

and the Kent player dribbling. Refs completely ignored it. Not sure how that happened. Kent should have been shooting 1 and1 with a chance for a miss and tip in to tie. I was impressed w/ KSU'S defense.

RE: Men's Basketball Week of Jan 20 - 26
Toledo has a lot of quickness and ballhandling, they get defenders out of position and attack the basket. the new rules play to their strengths. kent's goodson created contact and drew fouls all game, too. Toledo's d wasn't very physical when kent attacked. it wasn't like kent was drawing a lot of contact, they were just making shots. kent played very well. game could have easily gone their way but Toledo has an extra gear in reserve and tends to make a lot plays down the stretch of games.
