To go into the JAR and win by double digits is indeed impressive...

Sounds like Aaron, Nate, Kurt, and the usual cast of characters were in fine form vocally. Heard ya loud and clear on nationwide tv.

Every team has a demon or two. Makes for great parity in the MAC.

I swear Hawkins gets the shakes if you ask him about Akron or Ypsilanti.

This win today sends a message to the rest of the MAC that Toledo is for real and will be one of the best teams in the league this season. Huge win! Go Rockets! Let's keep it rolling!

RE: MBB: Toledo at Akron game thread
Going into the the JAR and beating Akron is a remarkable accomplishment that very, very few teams have been able to achieve over the past several years but to go in and get a surprisingly "easy" win (in that the Rocket's lead was not seriously challenged anytime during the entire second half) is even more remarkable. . This is especially so given the fact that two of the better Rocket players did not have one of their better days today, yet there were enough others capable of stepping up to more than cover.

It may be foolish to draw too many conclusions about the rest of the season based on a single win, even one as significant as this, but so far this year this Rocket team has shown a number of characteristics (tangible and intangible) that all really good teams possess and that is a very good sign for the rest of the season.

Two things we learned: We're pretty good and we now know that we aren't good enough to take anyone lightly as we may have at WMU.

Real quality win, Rockets. Congrats.

Watched it and was surprised at how easy your team made it look to maintain that lead.

really good ball movement today. we can offensively counter big defensive teams w our ballhandling, balance and quickness. probably our best defensive game as well, although akron-it should be noted-isn't really a good offensive team. based on the matchups so far weatherspoon, brown, and mccrae are all mac.

Much better effort than the CMU game and an impressive win. This team has all the components to win the MAC, as long as they play like the did at Akron. Lauf seems to always be in the right spot. WItherspoon adds some razzle dazzle and Pierson/Brown do what upperclassmen should do.
