One word/name- Target.

Yep, lets entrust our privacy to a corporation, nothing bad ever happens there.

What a buffoon.

And require the NSA to go through the rubber-stamp FISA court more frequently before they pore through your data, to give the illusion of oversight.

The argument against the NSA has become pretty stupid and I think doing away with it would cause us much more harm.

The NSA is not reading our emails. It is a series of algorithms and dots looking for a pattern.

99.999% of us are insignificant to this organization.

When a lone man chooses the laws/regulations/tax/not a tax to enforce (or not to enforce) and how to (or not to) enforce it, one would have to be a total fool to ever care what words come out of his phone or pen.

Evil defined.

PS - I thought gays trademarked the esteemed "freedom boner"?

Two things

1 - Rand Paul would not be in favor of this
2 - If he did his most ardent supports would bolt...

Until we're not........or someone from above decides we're not. You, the one that, "is considering the possibility of a shooting civil insurrection and your place in it" ,think you would remain "insignificant" if you chose the side not with the current government??????

It's kind of like hating on cops until you need one. It seems like it's becoming dangerously popular to dismantle the very structures that protect us. How many terrorist acts have been prevented because of our intelligence.

Sometimes the populist movement reminds me of the free pizza for everyone candidate in the high school student body President campaign.,

How many terrorist acts have been prevented by spying on Sally and Mary and Harry?

Remember this, the morning of 9/12/2001, every news outlet in the world had the PHOTOS of the 19 hijackers. That means that the information to prevent 9/11 was in the system before the event. Without the patRIOT act, without TSA, without NSA spying on us, without all the constitutional abuses. That means we could have prevented it without all that stuff. But we didn't. Disagree? Fine, explain how we came to have those photos and know those were the hijackers.

Senate says we could have prevented Benghazi. Without apparently any information coming from NSA or any of the constitutional abuses. But we didn't.

It's not their failure to invade our privacy that's holding them back. It's their failure to get off their lazy asses and do their job.

It is easier to abuse all citizen's rights, in the name of security, than to do any actual police work or intelligence work.

The Feds were told that Muslims foreign nationals were in US flight schools wanting to only learn how to control 747's in flight. The FBI/CIA choose not to investigate.

You guys both make a heck of a point.

If you're not transmitting your illegal intentions over broadband, the gov't NSA employee is too lazy to get out from behind his computer to do anything about it.

Good news for the Knights Templar division of the right wing.

Yep. We already had the system in place to protect our citizens. No one used it.

No it's like letting cops set up "sobriety" checkpoints to seach cars because only bad people need to worry..

I don't hate on peace officers I hate on a police state.

We should be leery of the expanding reach of the police state, especially a secret police.
