I don't like EKU. They are very poorly funded and other than some pie-in-the sky opinions from their AD, they have done nothing to put their money where their mouth is.

That whole stadium needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Attendance is atrocious. Just no. We don't need 12 that bad, that we would look over and around so many other potential candidates to extend and invite to EKU.

I dont like EKU today either. In fairness, I have a feeling I would have not like most former FCS Sun Belt teams the first day they started talking about moving up either. They just started floating the idea give them time, either they will step up or they will not. It would be better for the Sun Belt if they did so I am pulling for them. I would love to see EKU get their act together, join and kick WKU's arse up and down the field.

Some things are bound to change in the perceived pecking order of the SBC based on events
that may not have even occurred yet. Others, like losing certain coaches and what their
replacements will do have occurred.
Thinking that the Sun Belt has a bright future coming. Yes, we are very much football
centric. Too much, probably, but many would rather have it that way.

(or that Klingon thing could be true)

Competitive football is where the money is at. Having competitive basketball is bonus.

I cant wait to recruit Klingons they are ballers

LOL - still laughing

I don't think Petrino is the kind of person who would date a Klingon.

When you spend every day, year after year, recruiting strong athletic men, would make sense that he might be drawn to a very strong athletic female. Just thinking.

Yes, but crossing the lover of a Klingon woman...especially if it is another Klingon, is probably the last thing you will ever do.

Stockholm Syndrom is alive and well in the future. Sadly, however, the Blackberry, the West Nile Crocodile, and the triple option are all extinct.

The future of the conference?

In the next 3 years, we get our first top 25 team.
In the next 5 years, we lose at least two more members and I predict those members are currently in conference.
In the next 5 years, we add 3 more bowls.
In the next 5 years, nobody will pay attention to basketball (seriously).
In the next 5 years, I predict 8 coaching changes (5 by stAte)
In each of the next 5 years, someone will be b!tching about a lack of a bowl invite (and a few of them will have legitimate complaints).

In the next 3 years, we get our first top 25 team. Depends on scheduling
In the next 5 years, we lose at least two more members and I predict those members are currently in conference. 50/50 chance at best
In the next 5 years, we add 3 more bowls. Won't happen
In the next 5 years, nobody will pay attention to basketball (seriously). Why would this happen?
In the next 5 years, I predict 8 coaching changes (5 by stAte) stAte HC position will stabilize for a while
In each of the next 5 years, someone will be b!tching about a lack of a bowl invite (and a few of them will have legitimate complaints). Absolutely will happen.

we add three more bowls won't happen? We are already adding two. Adding a third is NOT much of a stretch.
About nobody payign attention to basketball? Nobody does now. Not seriously at least.
about stAte's HC? what basis do you have for that?

I will always favor college basketball over college football. Not cause our football program is in a long haul building stage but I just love college basketball. Especially in conferences like the Sun Belt or the CAA where no one is a celebrity and it's just good basketball. I still wish WKU wasn't leaving. Well recognized program over there.

Sorry, should have clarified: Universities as a whole will not pay attention to basketball.

Individual fans? Sure. Universities as a whole putting an emphasis on b-ball? negative.

Which is unfortunate but I understand. I'm actually really excited to see how the Big East does with just basketball members. I feel they will succeed.

I thought you meant 3 bowls in addition to those two. My bad. Three is likely. Men's Basketball is important to a conference, the SBC needs to work at improving there. As for stAte, I just don't think anybody can keep winning while making a change at HC every year. I think stAte will struggle for a couple of years under its newest head coach simply because of all the change. I have to admit that they've done a remarkable job of holding everything together through all the changes so far though.
