Given our earlier discussion on this topic, I thought you might appreciate this link from my favorite "news source."

Ha! That's pretty good. That last step is essential.

RE: School's Worth in Realignment - Big Board
Ok, stimpy, I took your advice on the Director's Cup since that does give a good overview of athletic prowess. No one has been able to help with living alumni or the bottom half of the teams in apparel sales. I compared the living alumni to what I have for undergrad students, and they correlated closely. Same story with athletic revenue and apparel sales. Neither are really a surprise.

So, I am going to post the results in a new thread since this one is so crowded. I'll use a sliding scale as well as the GPA since some prefer each. I am going back on what I said earlier about not posting Kentucky or Louisville... if anyone has a problem with it and wants to call me creative names, PM me.

Director's Cup - 20%
Full Time Undergraduates - 10% (much more than that undeservedly kills private school value)
Academic - 20% (combined score of USNWR, ARWU, CMUP)
Following - 20% (Football attendance 75%, Men's Basketball attendance 25%)
Funding - 30% (athletic revenue 75%, university endowment 25%)

That's a well rounded score. The only thing I can think of that might be missing is some measure of the school's athletic facilities. But, the schools with better facilities are able to recruit the athletes to do well in the Director's Cup, so you cover some of that there.

Right, and athletic revenue usually correlates to better facilities... much of this starts to overlap. Thanks for your input, and check out the results on the thread linked in my post above.
