RE: Champlin: Gran to interview
I suspect "emerging as a strong candidate" means he hasn't pulled his name out yet.

Gran did not make the "final cut" at FAU a few weeks ago.

Clark & Roberts are HC's & both have somewhat of a record as a HC.

I'd rather have Gran than the guy FAU hired.

RE: Champlin: Gran to interview
What has he done since the Cadillac and Ronnie brown days.

Roberts seems to be living off of a good season from a good qb in Bryan Bennett.
Clark doesn't have enough experience at the college level.

Both of them benefited off of a big group of SEC transfers, which will not be available at the D1 level.

Praying we have some more candidates besides Roberts, Clark, Niblett, or Propst.

Clark said that he has received over 100 calls from people inquiring about a position on his staff at UAB.

Seems like a lot of people know him.

(For those not awake yet that are reading this, that would be a good thing)

Clark is a very sharp guy........sharp enough to need more than a bunch of vague promises on facilities.

Clark coached the D at USA during their transition to big boy football when defense was something they did pretty well.

If we don't get him, someone else will before long.

The clock is ticking on how long JSU can keep him.

He may not leave there for UAB at this time, but if the right offer came along he'd go. That's how it works.

He had 20years in the RSA. Three seasons at UAB would triple his monthly pension. Thats for life and continues for his spouse if he dies
