JERX said that was a no go because he asked for too much money
It's one thing if UAB decided it wanted someone else anyway. But if UAB really did want Grobe and simply failed to put the $$$-package together, that would be a very bitter pill to swallow.

UAB is not going to pay a coach a cool mil. BOT wouldn't allow it. The thought it Grobe was the choice but he may have out bid what UAB was offering.

Why? Some guys are just outside your range. If what UAB offered wasn't enough for Grobe (and I don't even know if an offer was tendered), then he's welcome to ply his wares for someone else who will pay him what he wants.

I doubt money is an issue with Grobe. He resigned at Wake so the university didn't have to pay him a buyout...

Money is always an issue. Grobe was making 2.9 mil at WF. I don't think a mil is a lot to pay a coach with his experience. At UAB it is.

In that case, the odds that UAB will hire the Jax State coach just went up. Which -- money-issues aside -- would probably be a good move, anyway.
