Is building fond memories and attachment to their alma mater important if you want undergrads to come to Homecoming, to donate later in life when their pockets are deeper?

Why are UAB students robbed of the same campus experiences that build fond memories in countless other undergrads? Partying and tailgating on the quad, walking across the campus to enjoy watching their team with their friends are ordinary fall events at universities all across the nation, and particularly in the southeast.

It sure as hell seems to be a big important deal when they do it at UAT, why are our children denied this?

Is building new labs and hiring more researchers more important than building a football stadium? It's a tough question to ask yourself when you are a UAB supporter.

Then someone needs to show them the books and explain to them discretionary money is already flowing to football. There are only 2 ways to correct that. Invest in the program through monies made available outside those funds and make it a viable enterprise or close down ALL athletics. And those are the only realistic choices.

And frankly those people exist on every campus. Having family that have attended Tennessee there are certain people on campus that convinced the previous administration to funnel money from athletics into academics. It's gotten to the point UT athletics is cash strapped all the time.

The problem to be solved, at least from that perspective, is to convince them that it's not an either or proposition.

Just do like JSU and incorporate new dorms into the stadium infrastructure. The first four floors are dorms. Floor 5 - Booster Club (Like BlazerClub) Floor 6- Press Box and some Lux boxes. Floor 7- All Lux boxes. We added on to the stadium to where you can walk out of the filth floor into the bleachers.

For UAB build a horseshoe of classrooms and labs. Put the boxes on top and fit the stadium inside.

Call me, lets do lunch!

Bingo.

I want it all. I want UAB to be a world class kick-ass institution in everything it does. Including football.
