I know it's much more popular to lambast McGee for not talking to the team, but it may very well have been Mackin's decision. The Tommy West Rule or Dont let Departing Coaches Make Speeches Rule

The sainted Carol Garrison came from Louisville.

Carol "Neil Callaway was always our first choice!" Garrison?

No, Carol "say what we tell you to say lest you meet crimson justice" Garrison

Due to the nature of it - McGee not really leaving for a perceived better job, along with the fact that the players apparently are somewhat relieved, makes a non-meeting between McGee & the players not too bad a thing.

To be fair, I mentioned this possibility in the first post in this thread.

I know. I was agreeing with you. Apparently bless you know exactly what happened though, you are not allowed to speculate.

LOL @ Drew
We got dumped. 03-rotfl

Have you ever wanted to tell someone F U, and thank you at the same time.
That applies to McGee.
F U for changing our culture. LOL
Thank you for leaving and saving us the money to fire you.
It's a new day.

He really did save us a lot of money by leaving on his own. Good to see 19 players step up in the meeting.

To be honest, I don't know it was worth talking to the team. What could he possibly say that would have not made him look like a *******. I guess he could have handed out the 2-10 shirts as a parting gift. To me, the only bad part of this is he didn't leave before last season.

Wonder if this is a call McGee made or Mackin.

Shows how much of a man he is.

Petrino was definitely his mentor.

03-lmfao the "apple" didn't fall far from the "tree" in this case, eh?

The latter, for certain.
