If you look at teams like USM and their RPI, they haven't set themselves up necessarily by beating good teams; rather, they have avoided sub-200 teams (2-0 vs 7-0 for us).
That being said, I don't think it's entirely unfathomable for us to go undefeated at home, with a couple of road losses.
I think Saturday sets the tone. If we win that game decisively, we could very well be 20-3 (9-0) when Southern Miss comes to town.
I'll be grossly disappointed if we don't go undefeated. I have a lot of confidence in this team and expect a lot from the upperclassmen.

+1. Even if we have the best team in the conference (which is debateable), there are some nights when the shots just don't fall and the other guys play lights out. Also, only the most elite teams go undefeated on the road.

I think you will be grossly disappointed because UAB is not head and shoulders above several teams in this league. La Tech, USM, and Charlotte are teams UAB could easily lose to.

RE: Conference wins?
For a good laugh and a splash of cold water across the face, read this thread again.
I actually thought I was tempering my high hopes by predicting "only" 11 conference wins. Oh well.
BlazerGold09 is probably on Prozac by now: "I'll be grossly disappointed if we don't go undefeated."
Sorry, buddy, I'm laughing with you, not at you.

RE: Conference wins?
Honestly, we had such a good conference schedule with how our home games lined up and we really flushed that down the toilet. We played USM, La Tech, ODU, Tulane, MTSU, and UTEP all at home and only had 2 of our hardest 8 games played away (@MTSU, @Tulsa).
4-4 against the bottom 8 with 6 of these games being played on the road. It's likely we felt like we played badly against bad teams only because we played them on the road. Though , the ECU and Tulane home losses were kind of perplexing.
3-5 against the top 7. 4 incredibly close losses and even La Tech was pretty close until the very end.
Edit: It's still crazy to me that we went 7-9...and yet 5 of those losses were at home.
