Up Front TV: Louisville Cardinals' Tom Jurich on How to Build an Elite College Athletics Program.

With all the chatter about Charlie Strong leaving the University of Louisville football program for the University of Texas, athletic director Tom Jurich is back in the hot seat: Who to hire as the next Louisville Cardinals football coach? How will the program handle switching to the ACC under new leadership?

Prior to Strong's departure from UofL, I had a chance to sit down with Jurich for an in-depth conversation about the state of U of L athletics. We discussed his early years building the athletic department, Louisville's leap to the Athletic Coast Conference, and how to hire a good coach:

"The No. 1 thing with me is that person sitting across from me — they need to have the same passion as I do about this university…I also like to look at what have people done through adversity, Jurich said.
