Didn't feel comfortable asking Steve about personnel or recruiting
at the Tip Off luncheon today. Since most of the folks there weren't regular UALR fans, I didn't think it appropriate. But at our Tip In Club meeting this next Monday, I want to ask him about things like, "Are we recruiting a big man this year", or how certain players are progressing. With just our people there, he would probably be more comfortable being asked those questions then in an open forum. Steve always shows a sense of humor at events like today. Bobby Vint asked him a question, and he looked away and said "Next question". Obviously he was teasing Bobby, but it was pretty funny. Anyway, it was a good meeting and the food was surprisingly good.04-cheers

I often ask these types of questions at the Tip-In Club meetings. But realistically I know what the answers are likely to be. What coach will publicly say a player is "not progressing" or "isn't any good". Same with a recruit- we will always be told they are having great seasons. This if often true, but it still tells us little about how it will translate to DI basketball. Regardless, it is nice to be able to personally interact with the coaches and get some "tidbits" from them.
