REAL REASON OF LOSS: Went Away From Inside-Out Approach!
I was afraid that was going to happen. Hope they realize that was why we were so successful. GO INSIDE FIRST! There is no reason why Austin should have been on the bench basically the ENTIRE second half.

The bigs weren't fighting for position as hard as Cincy's bigs were defending them; when they were they didn't get the ball enough, and when they did get the ball they were timid.

they don't fight for position as hard when they're consistently ignored by the guards when they do get good position.

The problem with the team, right now, is our guards. Bad decisions, selfish, 1 on 1 (which becomes 1 on 2 or 3) play. It all stems from that. On top of that none of them are shooting very well either

Ditto! Along with lack of adjustments.

Zero adjustments is just pitiful...how can you go inside out with 4 guards? No Austin in the second half...Awful coaching...awful

The fact that you quoted this with no response says a lot.

I've said my peace. When shots aren't falling, this is what happens. Why keep shooting and not going in during situations like this. CONTINUE TO DEVELOP the inside game plan and we go far. If not, you will get off nights when the guard's shots are off and we lose as a result. You can't rely on shots to fall every night and blame playing bad on the guards! Coach your players and tell every guard that if they shoot another jumper, they get pulled. I remember Tom Izzo telling his players that earlier in the year, btw.

RE: REAL REASON OF LOSS: Went Away From Inside-Out Approach!
I was traveling and missed the game (thank God), but this makes sense now that I've taken a peek at the box score. Very disappointing. We actually out rebounded them, so it seems like we just played terrible offense with some guard ball hogging. We've seen this before. Hoping for better results against UL.

Joe Jackson played another solid game.
He is not the guard problem.
He is the guard solution.
Down the stretch, he was on the bench.

RE: REAL REASON OF LOSS: Went Away From Inside-Out Approach!
We could not go inside because their guards were playing way off of ours. That allowed their bigs to play behind our instead of having to front and it made the high low almost impossible to get into. We still do a very poor job of running plays for shots and that is a coaching issue. We have to actually run plays and stop relying on "one on one" matchups, especially when we are not hitting shots. This was really a failure at every level, coaching and playing.

I am also confused as to why King's minutes have been cut so much. He played well early on. I also thought Big Dom gave solid minutes verse USF. We have not really seen enough of Iverson in "real minutes" to get a good feel but we to start getting these guys minutes for when our core lineup is struggling...

That last 12 minutes was ugly. I guess we need another course correction.

RE: REAL REASON OF LOSS: Went Away From Inside-Out Approach!
How about we run sets for the bigs to get the ball. I think that "the open man is the go-to man" philosophy can be flawed against good defenses. And heres why:
**Many times there will be NO open man to go to. So therefore you get players just passing along the perimeter and chunking up bad shots. Or even shooting shots even when EVERYONE'S shots are not falling.

Someone said it right that we will need to run more set plays on offense or go straight Calipari and DRIVE, DRIVE, DRIVE the ball to the hoop every freakin time, especially on an off night.
