You have it wrong, best win is a 9 point loss to Duke. Don't you listen to him?

You know, talking to stilljones is like conversing with a pile of dung. The more you stand there and talk, the more it stinks....

La Tech and USM both had great seasons last year, but La Tech did return a lot more players from their 27 win team. I think most people like myself have more faith in their team because of that. USM has had the better start but there is a lot less history to suggest they are the real deal by comparison.

Let me know when a team from the past comes and plays either of these schools this year so we can compare the two. Lol...all you can do is shake your head at jonesey...

There is a difference in talking about the past as in when you are talking about teams where the coach or players that are all gone and talking about last year where all the players and coach return from a successful team. It's essentially the same team and certainly relevant. I don't know what's so hard to grasp about this. There is no reason not to believe this team is as good and likely better given the natural progression as players get older in college where as a team like USM has quite a few different major players.

USM's IMPACT players:

Neil Watson - SR, played the past 3 seasons....played in NCAA tourney '12 vs Kansas State (L), last year in the NIT vs. Charleston Southern (W), La Tech (W), and BYU (L)

Daveon Boardingham - SR, played all last year...played in NIT games vs. CSU, La Tech, and BYU

Micahel Craig - SR, played first half of last year, then got hurt...(we would've beat Memphis in the CUSA championship game had he stayed healthy)....he avg'd about 9-10 points a game last year before he got hurt, this year he's healthy and he's avg. about 12 points a game this year

Norville Carey - SO, played all last year and all throughout the NIT

Jerrold Brooks - SR, played all last year and all throughout the NIT

New guys this year:

Aaron Brown - Temple transfer, redshirted last year
Chip Armelin - Minnesota transfer, redshirted last year
Jeremiah Eason - JUCO transfer, big body (him and Michael Craig are both proving they are our Jonathan Mills-replacement from last year)
Devonte Houston - JUCO guard transfer
Matt Bingaya - 6'7 true freshman, he's gonna be a stud
Ude Ifeanyichukwu - 6'10 JUCO center

A majority of these guys were ON the same team who beat La Tech last year in the NIT.

Also the same guys that lost to LA Tech in Ruston last year.

USM 10-2, La Tech 10-3...

Random guess? It isn't record or RPI.

Probably had something to do with Tech beating Oklahoma at their place last week. Our best win is at North Dakota State.

Oklahoma's RPI is 46. NDSU's is 24.

I think Bingaya is a redshirt.

They're juveniles. Ignore them.

And this is a typical post by you that explains how "logical and respectful" you are with simply illogical explanations by you. How good you are is defined by how you play in the court, not by stats.

His explanations are often supported by some form of logic. He uses obscure statistical formulas and ratings but at least he makes an effort to provide a rational argument.

Some of you attack him with mere silliness. And all based on a post from a thread days ago. I think some of you don't even read his posts. You just attack it because his name is on it.

you've earned every negative word ever posted about you on here sir.

He has certainly earned some negative words, but he gets about ten times what he deserves.

2. Floyd has made it clear that nothing less than an NCAA bid is acceptable for UTEP. If they don't win it, they won't be playing in any post season tournaments.

You are confused as to what Floyd said, which is no surprise to me. Floyd stated that UTEP basketball will only play in a post season tournament that started with the word National. Meaning only the NCAA or the NIT and we would not play in any other post season tournament while Floyd is our coach.

Last year, Floyd said that his time would be better spent recruiting than accepting a bid to the N.I.T.

He said that about the CBI not the NIT. UTEP played in the NIT in Floyds first year and he stated we will only play in post season tournaments that start with NATIONAL.

Yes they were, and they were on the same team that Tech beat earlier in the year. 05-stirthepot05-stirthepot05-stirthepot
Gonna be an interesting season. USM has Tech at home, but in the conference tourney, anything can happen. Hope that payback is well, you know.04-cheers
