Pretty brutal December. Not much of anything went right.

It's all about OVC play now though and I think this is a conference we not only compete in, but also, we have a great chance to win the tourney at the end of the year. I hope I am right and maybe tonight we will get a good idea how we stand against OVC teams. This really is a big game as I think we need to snap this losing streak more then anything and just get back on a better note.

Everyone going? Hope we have a good crowd tonight.

I will be there +2. I am expecting things to start going better. Everyone seems to be healthy and we're ready to settle into the conference grind. I hope there is a decent crowd too, but the students are gone so it may be a little light.

The crowd looked very solid from the feed online. Great offensive showing from our team, especially when we began to limit our turnovers in the second half. We will be very tough to beat for the remainder of conference if we are able to be that effecient on the offensive end.

Sure was nice to rack one back in the W column.

Here are some things I found interesting in the box score from the Jacksonville State game.

1. We only took 11 shots from beyond the arc. It was extremely efficient though as we hit 64% of them by going 7 of 11.
2. 56 minutes of PT was by freshmen. The future of our team looks bright when our freshmen are getting this much experience.
3. 1,790 in attendance. Not bad with the students not on campus. I remember the day, not too long ago, when we could expect less than a thousand for a game without students.
4. We were outrebounded for the game, but that is relative. We lost it on offensive rebounding. Since we shot 64% from the field for the game, we only missed 17 shots. We got 7 of those 17. JSU got more offensive rebounds, but they missed 30 shots.

Point #1 is my favorite. We didn't settle for jumpers, we looked into the post, and we drove it very well. In the OVC I firmly believe we can play inside out at times. Also wanted to note that JJ had a terrific performance. Hopefully Drew didn't pass his illness onto Craig as I saw Craig on Twitter after the game complaining about chest pain.

Here's to hoping the boys continue to play good ball today against TT.
