RE: Potter
Good for John.

He could have real chance to unseat an aging David Akers who although was 3-for-3 from 50+ missed some "easier" kicks and ceded kick off duties to P Sam Martin, who was inconsistent.

Bizarre the timing, don't you think? I'm ok with it obviously, but they just fired the coach. "Hey new guy, we hired a kicker for you, deal with it".

Yes, but then again - it IS the Lions.

LOL! AND….and….if they hire Josh McDaniels, I'm through with football in that state, NFL, and College (WMU) forever.

RE: Potter
With the long and undistinguished history of the Lions as a guide, and the many bad decisions as a precedent (Fire Millen!) not much would surprise me regarding them choosing another loser as coach.

Perhaps they deserve to hire a clown like MickeyD. Denver fans watched him drive a decent team into the ground trying to recreate the Patriots - West and suffered through that debacle.

The Lions won't ever amount to anything as long as the Fords own that team. Hard to even fathom a Lions hater wanting to see that franchise sabotage itself further. The job would seem to be a career killer, except the NFL is a retread conference which takes care of its own inept coaches.

Happy for John, though. No wind to worry about now. Only situation better for him would be Denver, where he could land his kickoffs in row 34.

RE: Potter
Only a stooge would hire McDaniels this young, anyone who has seen him even last year knows he needs to grow up some more. Wait….what?!? We're talking NFL, and Lions, right?
