Look at Georgia State earning their keep.02-13-banana

Good win, any win over the CUSA-future AAC team is a good win, heck, any OOC win is a good win.

Any road win is a good win, not sure about a "big" one though. ECU has padded their record against 4 non D1 programs and 11 games at home. Every decent team they've played they lost. Interesting that 3 players scored all but 16 of the Panthers 89 points and 0 from the bench. If Atkins, Harrow, or Hunter get in foul trouble could be a problem. Regardless nice to get a road win against any decent team.

Although I too congratulate GaSt on beating ECU on the road, I wouldn't consider this the "big one". The jury is still out on whether ECU is any good. Their best win to date was a home win against a UNC-Asheville team that only has 3 Div I wins. ECU's record of 10-4 looks good but 4 of their wins were against Div II teams.

Regardless, any road win is a good win. Congrats GaSt.

Yes, our basketball team seems to be getting into a good groove. Anytime SBC>CUSA/AAC is a good day for me. We host Troy on Thursday.

That's three CUSA wins for GaSt, ODU, UTSA and now ECU. That's not a bad run.

I get what you are saying, it is big on what it would mean if they lost. Yes, last I checked, they were only right at 200 in the RPI, but had they lost, they would have fallen and hurt the conference.

Georgia State was in the 270's a week ago and is slowly climbing. This will climb it further. A loss would have seen the Panthers fall more than it would seen them climb. That in turn makes the conference as a whole climb.

In the meantime, it is a win over C-USA, the perceived better conference.

Is it a win over a powerhouse P5, no. But it is still a big win for the conference.

EDIT: I forgot to mention it may push the Panthers close to or under 200, leaving only one SBC school not lower than 199.

We would've beat southern miss too and be 4-0 against cusa. We had a 3 point lead with one second and they drained a shot to send it to overtime and we lost in OT.

But, this team is coming together. We are top heavy in that our starters score literally all of our points. But, a team has to stop our top 3. We are learning to play defense and are winning as a result.

That win moved Georgia State from the 230's yesterday to 182 today. It was a big win. Now the SBC only has one team not below 200.
