Not a pool. It's a river (the San Marcos) and that's natural vegetation. Removing it, unless it's out of control, would upset the eco balance. TXST is all about environmental studies; especially eco systems. There's a nationally recognized center on campus; upstream of this area (Sewell Park)

Won't clean it out as there is the endangered blind salamander and river rice vegetation is endangered too. So it will stay.

Louisiana reluctantly raised the age from 18 to 21 under threat of federal highway funds being withdrawn. Don't you love your Uncle Sam?

Ah okay.

Yeah, we have it pretty good here. I'm going to be pissed if I have to move out of the northwest when I start looking for jobs next week.

Well yeah, of course the Texas State one is.
If you are saying Touchdown Yosef is just a photoshopped image and not real, it does exist.
Been sitting on the App State campus for years....

Doubt you meant the mountain picture the face on the mountain of an old bearded guy is Grandfather Mountain near campus.

Years ago we were living in South Florida and planned a summer driving vacation; Florida to Texas, up through Oklahoma (where I had trained at Ft. Sill), to Ohio, over to West Virginia, to DC (to see some of her friends), and back to North Carolina (for my sister's wedding), then back to Florida.
She insisted that we spend at least a couple of days in Mobile. She was from Opp, Alabama. I thought she was nuts. Thought Mobile would just not be worth it. She won me over when she mentioned visiting the USS Alabama. Needless to say, she was right. It turned out to be one place I remembered the most. Kind of fell in love with it. Was like a combination of Charleston and Savannah.

VERY good analogy... Charleston (SC), Savannah (GA) and maybe just a TOUCH of Nawlins (French QTR).

Correct. Mobile was the first Capitol of the French Louisiana. The Capitol was moved to New Orleans about twenty years later.

No doubt Mobile is a neat city but what's up with the University of South Alabama homepage? In need of a serious update.

How far underground is field level GaSo? Does it ever flood?

Wasn't that excited about trips to South Alabama, no long football tradition,
but thinking about Mobile brings a lot of reasons to want to go even more.

Field level isn't that far below ground level. The hills are built up a little around the field. The worst I've ever seen the flooding get was over the Summer. Lots of rain plus drains being blocked due to construction flooded part of the field but that's the only time I've ever seen it flooded. It survived the Hugo Bowl.

Don't most Sun Belt schools (with the exception of Texas State,Idaho and NMSU) still fly Confederate flags on or near campus? I know Georgia Southern does but I'm not 100% sure about the others.
