As far as I know Arkansas State University has never flown a confederate flag on or near its campus.

A fraternity (Kappa Alpha I think) used to fly one, had Old South parties, and sometimes wore confederate uniforms because they were founded at Washington & Lee in 1865. But they did that at colleges all over the country. All of that is now banned nationwide by Kappa Alpha.

WHAT!!! Are you kidding me??? None of the universities that I know of fly that flag. The Alabama state flag looks similar to the Confederate battle flag, just white with red "X". I'm sure at tailgates there are some people that fly it, but that is at every campus, and NASCAR event in the south.

I'm assuming he drove through someone's campus who had a Kappa Alpha chapter prior to 2001. They sometimes displayed a confederate flag, or modified one, at their houses on some campuses and incorporated into their fraternity banners. People often mistook this as a display by the university itself.
