They haven't been announcing attendance until a few hours after the game is over. BTW, final score: UNC 39, Cincinnati 17 (22 points)

Actually attendance looked to be about 36K-38K based on what I was seeing.

Bridgewater putting on a clinic tonight! Team looks smoking hot on defense. 29 - 2 4th quarter , whoops, Teddy just rolled out for a 4th down Touchdown. 35 -2

I needed to see this type of performance after the UofL basketball loss this afternoon. Very entertaining for Card fans!

Cards rolled the Canes to the tune of 36-9, ending with UofL in victory formation at the Miami 5. This should definitely help continue the S Fl recruiting pipeline for UofL.

Bad stat for Miami. Your opponent's QB had 54 total yards rushing over the full regular season, and yet he outrushes your entire team 24-13 in the bowl game. Total domination by the Louisville defense.

No, I am quite good at estimating attendance unlike what UNC does for home games. 03-wink

If there was 45K in the stands I will eat the damn keyboard. The bottom level was 80% full. The upper deck was empty beyond the 40's on the both sides. Now, I guess you could have 3-4K in the luxury boxes, but if 45K watched the game in person, some were disguised as Carolina Panther blue seats. 05-nono

However, if we are actually arguing about 42K in the stands versus 36-38K in the stands (not in the boxes) that's not that big a difference I suppose.

Unfortunately, this is what happens when there's mediocre excitement in the opponent. The Belk Bowl going with the SEC should help tremendously.

That's not bad. I'm surprised that local Charlotte football fans didn't sell out the stadium or come close to it. I'm talking about the casual Charlotte fan who has a chance to see UNC play.

The casual Charlotte fan can see Carolina play whenever they want. CH is just 3 hrs away and we always have good seats available. Plus the casual Charlotte fan has the Panthers to be excited about.

RE: 2013-14 Bowl Thread
I was hoping for my own selfish reasons UNC wouldn't bring that many. I'd like for the Belk Bowl to have interest in GT beyond "if no NC schools are available, and Clemson isn't available, and VT isn't available.

The Belk is the closest bowl for GT. The Music City Bowl is the second closest, only missing out to Charlotte by a few miles. But they too have shown an aversion to the point of picking 3 spots below GT to get an awful UVA squad that laid a predictable egg in the bowl game. All these bowl officials openly said it matters a great deal whether or not GT beats UGAg as to how attractive they are. Well **** pencil Tech in for "unattractive" every year then. And I really really hate having to hope somebody somehow someway keeps Tech out of Shreveport.

Where are you getting that number? Is that the tickets sold?

The attendance was 45,211 according to the official box score, Charlotte Observer, and ESPN.

The official box score. Scroll down to the bottom for attendance. I'm sure it's tickets sold but then that's all that matters.
