If you are gonna talk the talk--back it up, right? Last year, my boss had to wash my truck and buy me a case of beer because the tigers won!! He is still mad about that!!!

Well good luck--we'll see!!

Dear Lord, I wish all exchanges between fans were handled the same way as USMC and egrizzard are handling it. Salutations to you two guys.

I like talking with other school's fans. Just not obnoxious ones. Griz isn't, so he's more than welcome here anytime he pleases.

I love to beat Ole Miss every time we play and just wish to get due recognition when it happens. I am, for one, very fond of Ole Miss and the history with Memphis. We all know that Ole Miss may have kept the Tiger's football program going back 40 + years ago by playing us when there was not much in it for Ole Miss. However, that relationship has changed and we believe that we our program has gotten to the point, after much determination, where we should be regarded as a peer and a competitive foe.

Yes, we are sensitive and should just disregard the barbs and settle it on the field. But, when someone says "Tiger High", it is just like calling my dad a "redheaded peckerwood". When he was a kid, that was the first thing you called him if you wanted to goad him into a fight.

I like your coaches, especially Rod. He is a fine fellow. I hope that he can stay and pull your basketball team back up to NCAA tournament contenders. But, I want to beat him every time he plays us.

I used to hunt down in Charleston with some boys and they and their families treated me like I was one of their's. I said then that I would never say anything bad about an Ole Miss fan again.

Thanks for listening. Come and see us when you can.

Every school has some great supporters and every schol has some real jerks. As for Memphis (State), They win a ball game and they start to ast as though they "OWN" us. They win a game and they think the ledger is balance...I don't think so.

I understand people supporting their school, they should. Just don't come to someone else's board and post like a smart as* and not expect to get toasted.

Pucker up Memphis State! :D

Let me add another prespective to this civil :) discussion. What drives Memphis fans crazy is that a kid goes away for a year to Ole Miss, UTK, Miss ST. and screws up and flunk outs and comes back to Memphis to go to school and still pulls for the first school :bang: :bang: :bang:

I admire Ole Miss and Tennessee fans who live in Memphis and attended those schools and support them....what I detest is people in Memphis who pull for the Rebels and Vols who never even seen an university much less ever get in their car and go a game. The last time UT played the Tigers, I had a vol fan sitting in front of me and I asked how did the stadium look after the final addition. He told me he has been a vol fan his whole life but never had been to Knoxville  Dressed in orange from his head to his toe and never been to Knoxville. I got friends who are Ole Miss fans who never travel to Oxford 05-nono At least you Johnny Rebs (on this board) are passionate!!

I enjoy this back and forth.....When we kick you :john: I will post it and when I get kicked, I'll just bend over and take it

The Vol fans here in Memphis really kill me! Most have never seen what the inside of a college classroom looks like!

We call them bandwagoneers. I hate it when Tennessee wins and I have to see all that orange being worn by their hanger-ons!

At least I'm from Mississippi and am a graduate of Ole Miss. And yes, I do go to the games! :D

Rebstill, no Memphis(UNIVERSITY OF) fan with any sense thinks we own ya'll. Just take those with a grain of salt. The Tigers are rising though--hopefully the playing field will even soon.

I've known ya'll as Memphis State all my life...

I just can't get use to University of Memphis. I still expect to hear Jack Eaton doing the play by play. (Old habits die hard.) 03-razz

You must not be refering to the Rivals board, OM spirit, I believe. Colonel Cracker banned me because I mentioned the bourbon bottle throwing incident of a few years ago.

BTW, what's the early line of the game September 4? Without Eli y'all gone be in some trouble. 03-wink

this isn't the Rivals board. Trust me.

As far as the Eli remark, study up. There are two names that will make you a believer. Robert Lane, and Michael Spurlock, both of which have good arms, better mobility.

The Ole Miss offense just got a new wrinkle....
