UTSA is killing C-USA RPI even worse than TROY is the SBC.

^ I tried to tell the Tops fans that UTSA basketball has really fallen when they talked about how much better C-USA was than the SBC. Their athletic budget is not much different than UTA's when football was added. Unlike UTA, the play basketball in a SLC-average venue. And also unlike UTA, they have very little on-campus population and activity. Once CPC opened, UTA began outdrawing UTSA almost 2-1 in bball. Make no mistake, UTSA will conceivably be at the bottom of C-USA standings in perpetuity.

They are funneling a lot of their student fees to make the football program viable. Their facilities are sub-par and unlike TXST or even UTA someday, they have to rent out the Alamodome, costing even more money. Their attendance for what they were/are is impressive, but it doesn't bring in revenue like it would for on-campus places.

Maybe the basketball team will get better once C-USA revenues come rolling in.

A lot was made about their all-sports finishes in the SLC and WAC, but they only finished that high because they sponsor more sports than anyone else. They were middle of the pack in average finish per sport. With their facilities, I don't see that changing.
