Molinaro is way off base. Can you make an argument that the position Towson is in is better than ECU playing Ohio? Maybe, but I'd still side with ECU.
What he fails to mention is that ECU plays 6 or 7 games during the regular season that trump any FCS playoff game. Games against UNC, NC State, Va Tech and Marshall have far greater impact then what Towson is doing. And say Towson wins, then what? They have to repeat or they are JMU.
Bob M conveniently left out all the facts IMO.

You certainly can't argue that C-USA bowl ties in are notable, they are second tier bowl games nobody but the fan base cares about, and we'll more than likely never be in the big bowls. Asking the question, "would you rather be winning a FCS championship or playing in a useless bowl on Monday afternoon before all of 20,000 fans of the 2 teams" is a fair enough question. Don't get me wrong. I like the idea of playing home and homes against Big 5 teams, but that is probably all we'll get out of our move.
Would I have been excited for ODU to have won a FCS National Championship? Yes. But, the bottom line is nobody cares. I had no idea JMU and Richmond had won National Championships before I started following FCS football, because of ODU, and you think that would be of SOME local interest. I didn't know W&M were regulars in the Playoffs and they are right up the road. I DID listen to ECU in the Beef O'Brady Bowl on ESPN Radio on my ride home from work and catch a bit of it on rebroadcast last night. A few of the FCS Playoff games are televised and the Championship will be, but not as many people will watch as they will the Bowls and it will not receive nearly as much media coverage. I heard national radio discussion of ECU's Bowl win. Want to place bets if Mike & Mike or SVP talk about the FCS Championship? It may get a passing remark, if NDSU wins it for the third straight time. Thanks, Bob, but I'll take the lesser Bowls and the regular opportunity to play bigger name programs, until ODU becomes one of the bigger name programs. People forget that 25 years ago, VT wasn't the VT people think of. They sucked. You could walk up on game day with a student ID and have an entire row to yourself. ODU has already passed what they amassed over the first, oh 80 years or so of their program. Bob seems very intent on doing everything he can to bash ODU any way he can. He is welcome to his opinion and I am equally as welcome to mine that he is a class A horse's a$$.

Guys, Guys, Guys.
The FCS National Championship? Really, is as much an accomplishment as winning the CIT.
Take a second and think about that.

What if Jamie Skeen had transferred to ODU (from WF) instead of VCU?

Some recent What Ifs:
What if Butler didn't make that last second shot
What if Josh Lomers didn't have the game of his life in New Orleans
What if Bazemore had made that FT on senior night to tie the game and give him 38
What if Blaine had recruited Darius Theus
What if ODU could stop the triple option
What if Demarco never got hurt
What if Khyle Marshall had committed to ODU
What if Painter had transferred in one year earlier
Can do this all day...haha

What if Jeff Capel III took over for his father in 2001? (he wouldn't have, but it's "what if" not "hey dummy, this can't happen")

First off, I know exactly what a columnist is supposed to do but your assumption that I don't was a cheap shot, so thanks for that.
Secondly, just as he is, I'm allowed to have an opinion on his article.
