He definitely had the Mike Davis philosophy on recruiting down for a few years. He has not used it in a few years though.

There's something more to this than wins and losses.

Kids have to be held accountable off the field as well... apparently this coach wasn't doing that. I appreciate that Coach McGee cares about character.

So your AD didnt attend a presser about firing your football coach.....

Maryland did the same thing to Ralph Friedgen, he was ACC Coach Of The Year when he got canned.

Comegy was fired for several reasons.

1. JSU is a traditional power in the SWAC and they judge you on big wins and Championships. Comegy only had one in 8-years.
2. Comegy struggled with APR issues due to the amount of Juco players he signed.
3. Jackson State for the last two seasons has had the most talented team in the SWAC but has nothing to show for it.
4.Attendance at JSU has dropped from 20k to around 15k this season which is the lowest in a long time at Jackson State. Many fans were upset that Comegy did more national recruiting instead of signing local kids. With JSU trying to build a 50, 000 seat dome they have to get attendance up.
5. The emergence of Jackson State's biggest two rivals Southern and Alcorn. Southern won the SWAC this year, finished 2nd in the nation in FCS in attendance, and is recruiting well. Alcorn is actually out recruiting JSU within the state and finished the year with a big win vs Jackson State in the Capital City Classic.
